 | Our Story
It started with a simple story. A mother telling a
daughter about what it was like for her to worry about the first day of
school all summer long knowing that she had only ill-fitting clothes
to wear. She would not fit in. She didn’t have confidence or pride to
walk into her classroom on the first day of school.
This daughter could not shake the story of her mother. She wanted to erase this pain for other children facing this shame; and wanted to give her children the education and compassion to empower them to change the lives of their homeless peers. This is how My New Red Shoes started. We want to change this story for all the 5,000 homeless youth in the Bay Area. Click here to read more on our founder's story. |
