“The girls in our Brownie troop enjoyed the hands-on volunteer work they did with My New Red Shoes. It was especially meaningful to help less fortunate girls in our community feel confident at school.” – Brownie Troop Leader
“This is one of the few organizations we found that has meaningful volunteer activities for younger kids.” - Cadette Leader

How to volunteer with My New Red Shoes!
Host a Shoe Drive Collect brand new, athletic style shoes for homeless children. Set up a collection through your school or office, with your friends and neighbors. An individual can also host a shoe drive. We'll provide you with our shoe drive kit and support along the way! If your troop hosts a shoe drive please complete and submit this form.
Host a Fabric Drive My New Red Shoes is always in need of fabric to sew our gift bags. My New Red Shoes accepts donations of cotton or poly blend fabric that is at least 1 yard long. We do not like to give fabric that is related to holidays, since we distribute the bags during the back-to-school season.
Tie dye- We have tons and tons of white fabric available for your troop to tie dye! It is not required that your troop sew the gift bags after they have been tie dyed, but that is certainly an option! Here's a quick how to: simply cut the fabric according to the gift bag template_ size, tie dye, wash it, and deliver it to My New Red Shoes.
Sew Gift Bags Each child My New Red Shoes serves receives a gift of new shoes in a colorful, hand sewn bag made by a volunteer! This simple, hands-on project is great for both children and adults.
Create a Back-to-School Card Hand-decorated cards offering messages of encouragement are also added to gift bags along with shoes and clothing gift cards.
On-Site Volunteer Opportunities Help us sort, organize and count gift bags, shoes and first day cards in our community engagement room! While the majority of our packing and distribution events take place during the summer, we occasionally have opportunities for on-site volunteering throughout the year.
If your troop volunteers with us in any capacity (i.e. donates fabric, makes gift bags or first day cards) please submit this form.
