Sort, Sew & Serve on January 24th, 2015-Full
Spend the morning on January 24th, 2015 at My New Red Shoes' headquarters and help Bay Area homeless and low-income children start the school year with confidence and pride! Discover how My New Red Shoes' simple gift of new shoes and clothing yields a remarkable impact as you work and play at My New Red Shoes' warehouse. Girls will have fun sewing and decorating gift bags, drawing “First Day” cards and making special SWAPS at this event!

Location and Parking:
This event is located at Mercy high Schools Kohl Mansion which is located at 2750 Adeline Drive, Burlingame, CA. 94010. Parking is available in front of Kohl Mansion.
The event costs $15/person to participate (for Girl Scouts, adults, and siblings). The participation fee for your troop should be paid on the day of the event in cash or a check made out to My New Red Shoes. All attendees will receive a My New Red Shoes Participation Patch.

How to volunteer with My New Red Shoes!
Host a Shoe Drive Collect brand new, athletic style shoes for homeless children. Set up a collection through your school or office, with your friends and neighbors. An individual can also host a shoe drive. We'll provide you with our shoe drive kit and support along the way!
Host a Fabric or "Something Special" Drive My New Red Shoes is always in need of fabric to sew our gift bags. Or host a "something special" drive! What is something special? In previous years it has included small items such as pencils, erasers, calculators, colored pencils, hair tie's etc.
Sew Gift Bags Each child My New Red Shoes serves receives a gift of new shoes in a colorful, hand sewn bag made by a volunteer! This simple, hands-on project is great for both children and adults.
Create a Back-to-School Card Hand-decorated cards offering messages of encouragement are also added to gift bags along with shoes and clothing gift cards.
On-Site Volunteer Opportunities Help us sort, organize and count gift bags, shoes and first day cards in our community engagement room! While the majority of our packing and distribution events take place during the summer, we occasionally have opportunities for on-site volunteering throughout the year.
