My New Red Shoes has many meaningful and hands-on volunteer opportunities for children (ages 4+), adults, individuals, and groups! To date we have served over 11,000 children and we couldn't have achieved such results without the thousands of fantastic volunteers. You too can join in our efforts - check out how you can get involved below! We'd also be happy to create a special, tailor-made project for your school, corporate group, Girl Scout troop, faith based organization, or other group. Host a Shoe Drive Collect brand new, athletic style shoes for homeless children. Set up a collection through your school, office, or friends. We'll provide you with photos, stories, and information about the children we serve. We need to collect 4,000 shoes this year! Sew Gift Bags Each child receives their gift in a colorful, hand sewn bag made by a volunteer! This simple, hands-on project is great for both children and adults. Draw a First Day Card These will also be added to the gift bags along with shoes and gift cards. Contact the program manager to determine our specific needs. On-Site Volunteer Opportunities Help us sort, organize and pack shoes and gift bags in our warehouse or sew a gift bag in our community engagement room! While the majority of our packing and distribution events take place during the summer, we have several opportunities for on-site volunteering throughout the year. Host a Clothe-a-Child Drive Collect funds from your friends, neighbors, and co-workers to sponsor children in your area. Your funds can go directly to serving children in your local area. The more funds raised, the more children we will be able to serve! Attend an Event My New Red Shoes has several events throughout the year. Click here for more details. Host a Back-to-School Party Help us distribute the bags to the children at shelters in July and August. Organize games, activities and snacks.
