Board Member Bios
Heather M. Hopkins, Founder, Board Chair, launched My New Red Shoes after hearing a story from her mother about dreading the first day of school as a child because her family couldn't always afford clothing and shoes that would make her proud and ready to face the new school year. From 2006 to 2008, Heather served as the volunteer Executive Director of My New Red Shoes. She served as Board Chair for six years. Through her efforts, Heather was awarded the Jefferson Award for Public Service in 2007. She graduated from Princeton University. Heather can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Timi Most, Board Vice Chair, has been the CFO of Mind Garden, Inc. since it was established in 1994. She has been a community volunteer for over 30 years in both the local schools and with various non-profits. Timi has extensive experience working with and organizing non-profit organizations as well non-profit board experiences. She helped found Daybreak Shelter, the first suburban shelter for homeless youth in this country and is on the Board of Foundation for a College Education. Her passion is to work in diverse ways to facilitate positive changes for underserved children and families. Timi received her B.A. from the University of Miami.
Lisa Sweeney, Treasurer, Treasurer, is the Executive Director of Fox Hollow Ventures. Prior to this role, she was the Director of Finance at the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and taught at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and worked in private equity, making investment decisions and serving on the boards of numerous portfolio organizations. She also taught private equity at the Haas Graduate School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. She received an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University and a BS in Accounting from the University of Southern California.
Cira Nickerson, Secretary, is Managing Director for the Palo Alto/Hawaii Complex. Cira has served for 19 years with Morgan Stanley and works closely with her Management Team on the strategy, business growth and development of 220 Financial Advisors across seven branches. Cira was recently recognized with the Morgan Stanley Platinum Award for her successful results with Diversity and Inclusion across her Complex. She attended Morris Harvey College in Charleston, West Virginia and holds a degree in Medical Technology. She lives in Los Altos with her partner Kim and three rescue dogs.
John Brown, Board Member has been involved in marketing in the technology industry for over 15 years and is currently a manager of market research at Apple, Inc. He holds a Master's degree in counseling psychology from the University of San Francisco and currently has a therapeutic practice in San Mateo, CA. John is a motivational speaker for teens and couples and has been active in the youth population as a youth group leader and mentor over the last nine years.
Alissa Douglas, Board Member, is a VP, Investment Director at Fidelity in the Family Office Group. Alissa has over 20 years of investing experience including 9 years at CM Capital, a $1B+ multi-asset class family office in Palo Alto, where she served as Director of the Funds Investment Department. Prior to CM, she worked as an analyst at a hedge fund and in fixed income capital markets. She has a BS in Operations Research from Columbia University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
David Fisch, Board Member, is the VP of Partnerships at Houzz where he leads the company's strategic partnership efforts. Previously, David spent a number of years at Facebook working on business development and platform partnerships. Prior to Facebook, David worked at StubHub where he was responsible for launching and scaling StubHub’s finance department and leading other strategic corporate initiatives. In addition, David was a high yield research analyst at Goldman Sachs focused on the gaming, lodging, and leisure sector. David received his BA from the University of Michigan and MBA from Harvard Business School.
Claudia Ferguson, Board Member, is a Senior Vice President and high profile deposit relationship manager at Presidio Bank, a community business bank headquartered in San Francisco. Her banking career spans over 20 years in the San Mateo community. She forms long-lasting client relationships and always looks for opportunities to enhance the service experience for her clients. Claudia is a member with National Charity League and Young Men Service League and volunteers her time at My New Red Shoes and many local charities along with her family. She participated in the San Mateo Leadership program and remains actively involved in the program and the San Mateo community. Born and raised in Germany, Claudia completed her education in finance and banking laws abroad before settling in San Mateo.
Andrew Page, Board Member, brings 20 years of finance and business strategy experience to the Board of My New Red Shoes. Andy currently serves as President of 23andMe, the leading personal genetics company, where he leads the company's product and engineering, marketing, finance, business development, laboratory operations and legal/regulatory affairs functions. Prior to joining 23andMe, Andy served as the President of Gilt Groupe, an online, invitation-only luxury goods retailer. Prior to joining Gilt, Andy was COO and Financial Officer of PlayPhone Inc., where he was responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s operations across 15 countries. Andy holds a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Chris Penner, Board Member, is the Senior Vice President of Global Channel Sales and Alliances at Box, where he runs the indirect and partner sales strategy for Box worldwide. Prior to joining Box, Chris worked at NetApp where he served as the Senior Director of the Microsoft Business Unit and the Senior Director of Strategic Alliances and Solutions, among other leadership roles. Prior to NetApp, Chris also lead strategic alliances, channel sales, business development, and OEM sales at Interwoven (acquired by HP) and Plumtree Software (acquired by Oracle). Chris spent his earlier years as a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting, and held management roles at Agilent Technologies and Kaiser Permanente. Chris has a BS from California Polytechnic State University and an MBA from The Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
