Heather M. Hopkins, Founder and Director, graduated from Princeton University with a degree in American History. After working as the Associate Director of New York University’s Annual Fund, Heather moved to the Bay Area and became a freelance writer for children.
 
 
Caron Tabb, Co-Executive Director, has worked extensively in program management of nonprofit organizations and has produced large scale arts & culture events in the Bay Area and abroad. Caron was born in South Africa and grew up in Israel before moving to California with her family eight years ago. She holds a BA in Education & a MA in Organizational Behavior of Nonprofit Organizations. Caron can be reached at caron@mynewredshoes.org
 
 
Meredith Ackley, Program Director, has been an active community volunteer in the Bay Area for over 10 years, serving as Chair and currently Vice Chair of the Board of the Directors for YES Reading and as the Community Building Chair for The Learning Center. Meredith's professional background is in marketing and communications. She holds Masters in Communications Management from the Annenberg School at USC. Jennifer Hodgson Loving, Vice Chair, is the CEO of the Emergency Housing Consortium (EHC LifeBuilders), where she has served in various leadership roles within the Family Division since 1997. Jennifer holds a M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo.
 
 
Gennette (Genni) Lawrence, Treasurer and Accountant, is a Fund Accountant with Legacy Venture, a philanthropic venture capital firm. Prior to Legacy , Genni worked for Weil, Gotshal and Manges, LLP as a Compensation Analyst. An active volunteer in her local community, Genni also works as a bookkeeper for several non profits and small businesses. Genni holds an MBA from Baruch College in New York and a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia.
 
 
Timi Most, Secretary, helped found Daybreak Shelter, the first urban homeless shelter for teenagers in the United States, where she has continued to volunteer for 15 years. In addition, Timi is the head of Mission Ministries at Christ Church in Portola Valley. A mother of three, Timi has volunteered for 18 years in Menlo Park schools.
 
 
Jenny Pearl Chen, Board Member, is an associate at Oak Hill where she invests in private equity and venture capital. Jenny was awarded the Lloyd W. Dinkelspiel Award for exceptional contributions to undergraduate education at Stanford. Jenny holds a B.A. in Economics and a M.S. in Management Science and Engineering.
 
 
Sohi Sohn Chien, Board Member, is a strategist at Google, Inc. Prior to Google, Sohi worked at the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula as the Director of Volunteer Services and Community Partnerships. Sohi has also served on the Palo Alto Unified School District Board of Education. She earned her B.S. in Biology and her M.A. in Anthropological Sciences from Stanford University.
 
 
Marianne Walters, Board Member, has over 20 years of experience in elementary education. She has taught primarily in the 1st-5th grades, but most recently served as Vice-Principal at Oak Knoll School in Menlo Park. A past board member of the Menlo Park Atherton Education Foundation, Marianne received the 2006 Golden Oak Award from the Menlo Park School District.
 
 
Megan Anderson, Stanford Board Fellow, holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Spanish from UC Berkeley. Prior to business school, she worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company. She currently mentors undergraduates and has worked with Larkin Street Youth Services in San Francisco.
 
 
Ellen Kim, Stanford Board Fellow, graduated with a B.S. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was an Associate in the Public Finance Investment Banking group at Citigroup. Ellen continues to be involved with the Korean American Family Service Center in Flushing, NY. .
 
 
Mhaire L. Fraser, Board Member, holds a Ph.D. In Educational Psychology from the University of Southern California and Master’s degrees in Psychology, Education, and Gender Studies from various institutions. She is a core faculty member of the undergraduate program at Pacific Graduate School of Psychology where she helped develop the main program curriculum around social action. She also holds a position at DeAnza college. She has been actively interested in social justice throughout her lifetime and brings this value to her teaching.
 
 
Bena Vohra, Board Member, is a marketing professional and passionate volunteer. With the aim of cultivating leadership and compassion in both herself and others, she has spent several years working with various non-profits through the Junior League of Palo Alto•Mid-Peninsula. She is currently partnering with The Children's Place in Redwood City, California, a program designed to assist five- to 13-year olds exposed to drug or alcohol addiction in their families. Bena graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
 
 
Alexandra (Allie) Allegra, Junior Board Member, is a high school senior at Sacred Heart Preparatory in Menlo Park. As the president of My New Red Shoes’ 2007 Junior Board, Allie led ten students from five high schools in planning a walk/run event that raised $8,000. Allie is currently undertaking an independent study at her school on Homelessness in America. In college, she plans to study International Relations and continue to learn about social justice issues.
